Longing for those warm, strong hands...

He gave her hug and she went to bed feeling happy that night. She did not expect that to happen but it did. Then she had to leave the city for 3 days. She longed to see him again but she knew there is still time for them to meet again. 3 days passed by in the quickest of time. They decided to meet again.

She saw him standing there and her heart flipped. She was happy to see him. He is like the ‘light’ that brightens up her day. So they walked together. As they walked, she felt a little cold. He, being the man was feeling alright. So she slipped her hand onto his arms. Eventually, his hand found hers and they walk hand in hand together. It was a surprise to her. She did not foresee that this meeting would bring them together. It was the happiest moment for her after so long. They spent the night having dinner and managed to catch a movie. She held him throughout the movie never wanting to let go knowing that she’ll not be able to see him as often. She left for home the next day…….

Soon it was Christmas, then New Year and followed by Chinese New Year. January goes by as fast as February did and now it is March. Three months had passed by. They have not met after she left for home. She longed for those warm, strong hands which she held on to three months ago. Now she finds it hard to imagine how comfortable and assuring those hands felt. And as the months floated by, they seldom keep in touch. She tries to spend some time talking to him yet their conversation seems to be getting shorter by the days. Sometimes she wonders if there is still anything between them. Before all these, they’ve had so much to talk about but now it is so different.

She knows he is extremely busy with his commitment towards work. Thus she told herself to give it time. She needs the time to herself too. Both are at the prime time of their lives where they have the freedom and ability to fight for their future. With the distance between them, she learned to persevere through the wait and those longing feelings, knowing that she will see him again one day. Having people asking her about him did not make it any easier yet she covered her feelings with smiles and laughter. She hid all her feelings behind the happy mask and the four walls of her room. Never telling anyone about the unruly ocean within her. It is best that it stays unknown to anyone while she learns the few most valuable virtue: trust, patience and most important of all LOVE.
